In this post, I will evaluate the capability of each riffle to finds out the good things and the weaknesses of these 2 riffles.
AK 47 was invented in 1947 by Mikhail Kalashnikov, its avebriation stands for avtomat kalashnikov 1947. The riffle was then brought into service to the Russian Forces in 1949and it was the first assault riffle in history. AK47 is also renowned as the tough rifle because of its durability through many battle terrain, it can be fired properly after it was crushed by a truck, soaked in water, and submerged into sands, beside of its durability it also has a badass firepower, it uses 7.62x39 Ammo which able to penetrate and cut a stone into half. One thing that is bad about AK47 is it recoil, the AK47 will not hit anything at 300yards which was an letdown to this magnificent riffle.
M16 is an american assault rifle, It was come into service by the time of vietnam war, The M16 was the evolutionary of M14 semi auto rifle, the design of this rifle is intended to alter the recoil from the handle to the stock, thats why it has a pistol grip whish is installed vertically to its body unlike the M14 which has a paddle like shape. The M16 was not a grace to the USarmy, It tend to jam in tropic condition and it needs a lot of care from its user. The M16 uses 5.56 x 45 mm NATO ammunition, it is smaller in terms of size compared to AK's 7.62x39 Ammo but it does travel at higher velocity but it is nothing compared to energy that 7.62 deals. M16 is taking advantage in hostage situation, it has fire selector that can be set to semi auto firing and it has ambidextrous rifle sight. In term of accuracy M16 is whole much better than AK47.
Overall AK47 is intended to be used in all terrain CQB rather being used as a Designated Marksmen rifle, while the M16 is focused in the both area but not in all terrain as it will jam if its barrel is exposed to a high level of humidity or dust.
